Dermaplane

Dermaplane

Dermaplane is a manual, non-invasive resurfacing technique that removes the superficial layers of the skin and the vellus hair, commonly known as “peach fuzz.” In addition to exfoliating the skin and removing hair, dermaplaning lessens the appearance of fine lines and improves uneven skin tone.

Contrary to what many people think, dermaplaning is not the same thing as microdermabrasion. While both are considered skin resurfacing treatments, only dermaplaning removes the outermost layer of your skin. It is the removal of the epidermis layer that stimulates new collagen growth, giving your complexion a healthier glow. You’ll also notice your skin-care products are more readily absorbed and your makeup goes on smoother. Microdermabrasion also does not remove any hair.

At Faces you can be assured of our aesthetician’s knowledge of skin care and the techniques with which they deliver their services. Dermaplaning is no exception and should only be performed by a licensed healthcare professional. Blades purchased from a drug store will not be as sharp or effective as the medical-grade scalpels used in our office.

Dermaplaning is a favorite among our patients, and is included in almost every treatment. It can also be scheduled as a standalone, 30-minute treatment for a quick but effective “mini-facial.” The cost of a dermaplane is $50.
