Meet Dr. Jordan

Dr. J. Randall Jordan, Double Board-Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon near Jackson, MS

The facial plastic surgeon you choose is important if you want to achieve the best results and have a comfortable experience. Patients who choose a board-certified facial plastic surgeon can rest assured that their procedure will be performed to the highest standard of care.

Although any practicing physician can legally perform cosmetic surgery, those certified by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery must undergo extensive training. They must also pass rigorous examinations to demonstrate their mastery of the field.

At Faces in Ridgeland, MS, we’d like to introduce you to Dr. J. Randall Jordan, our double board-certified facial plastic surgeon who is dedicated to patient satisfaction and has a passion for educating others.

Why Dr. Jordan Chose Medicine and Facial Plastic Surgery

Dr. Jordan knew he wanted to get into medicine early in his life. His family includes a long line of physicians, but what really drew him to medicine was the intersection of technology and science, and the many opportunities to help others. To Dr. Jordan, surgery seemed like an obvious fit.

What initially attracted Dr. Jordan to facial plastic surgery were the technical challenges of reconstruction he encountered while completing his residency, and later, during his fellowship, the finesse and skill required for a successful cosmetic outcome. One of the best rewards you could ever hope for in any profession is helping someone feel better about themselves, and Dr. Jordan felt he could do that whether by restoring beauty to an aging face with a facelift, achieving better facial harmony with a rhinoplasty, or helping a child avoid teasing through otoplasty. He considers it a privilege to perform facial plastic surgery as his lifelong career.

What to Expect When You Meet With Dr. Jordan

Dr. Jordan believes the best decisions are informed decisions. Once you’ve discussed your concerns and shared your wishes, he’ll review your medical and surgical history. After a thorough evaluation of your facial features, he will lay out all your options for improvement. He’ll begin with the non-surgical options and then discuss the surgical ones, listing the advantages and disadvantages of each approach. His primary objective is to help you make the best decision possible towards achieving your aesthetic goals. In some instances, particularly for a Rhinoplasty consultation, computer imaging may be used to better visualize the possible changes. Be assured that Dr. Jordan will never suggest a surgery you don’t need, nor talk you into a procedure you don’t want. The decision is yours. During your consultation you will also have the opportunity to meet with a patient care coordinator who will provide you with detailed financial information concerning the proposed treatment plan.

Questions Patients Frequently Ask Dr. Jordan

My early childhood years were spent in Huntsville, Alabama. We moved to Gulf Breeze, Florida just as I was starting high school. My two younger sisters still live there and it’s a place I visit frequently.

I enjoy working in my yard, traveling both in the US and abroad, saltwater fishing and bird hunting. My wife and I live in Madison. We have two grown children in their early 20’s who both live out-of-state that we correspond with frequently during the week.

I love the creative and thought provoking aspects of facial plastic surgery. It has proven to be a challenge and blessing to be able to improve or restore what has been given to us.

Every day and every patient is different. I love the variety and challenge. It keeps me interested and engaged.

Once I recognized the challenge in designing and implementing a specific procedure to address a patient’s issue, I was hooked!

Continuous quality improvement has always been a means to achieving my goals – everyday I seek to learn and improve what I do.

Training is long and arduous, and learning to appreciate the subtle differences in anatomy from person to person takes time.

I perform almost all types of facial plastic surgery, but I specialize in and particularly enjoy Facelift and Rhinoplasty

Scott Stringer, a fabulous leader who sets a high bar! Phil Langsdon, a friend and fellow facial plastic surgeon who helped me in countless ways. Gaylon McCollough, a renowned and legendary facial plastic surgeon who trained me. And my wife, Allison, who makes me a better person, or at least tries to!

I have become more of a perfectionist and better at managing time and work flow. I am also a lot more patient.

I love to teach, and I am extremely interested in educating patients about the various options available to them. I believe our website demonstrates this fact and it’s also evident when they meet me in consultation. I will never talk a patient into surgery that they don’t need or want. And while I enjoy the technical aspects of facial plastic surgery, in the end what matters most to me and my staff is the patient’s happiness.
